What do you mean exactly? They are the same to a point. The Bellhousing's are different. What motor will this tranny be put on?

97 2.4 liter was gonna switch the bellhousing

If i remember i think the only thing that is the same is the guts the bellhousings are different. On the 2.3/2.4 (Quad 4 or Twin cam)the starter is at a different location campared to the 2.2. so the bolt pattern will be different in that case.

Which tranny are you going to swap? getrag or isuzu? If I remember correctly isuzu 2.2 tranny has a different gear ratio than the 2.4 isuzu tranny.
