I did a nice 1K mile break-in and then a easy 1K highway road trip on it. Never had it slip unless I made it.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

This is why Im still running my stock clutch!! I can't believe it is still holding but it is! Im sure when I get to the track the clutch will give up... I have a spec stage 3 to put in put right now I trust my stock one over the spec.
idk, im looking for another clutch..if not im trailering the pig to the bash

I had a spec stage 3 cluth and it was great most the time but ofter when running the hell outta my car it would slip a little going into 3rd. I now upgraded to the spec stage 3+ broke it in about 800 mi and now after about 5k miles its great no issue's like the plain stage 3. Maybe the 3 is just a bad omen who knows. Make sure your clutch is bleed nicely.
I hate the clutch feel but I've never had a problem with the spec stage 3+ slipping at all, even with the drag radials and s/c setup.

How does the pedal feel from stock to the stage 3??
all these small stupid issues are why i went stock

285whpcavy - If your still wondering Stage 3 SPEC is softer then stock. For me.
well i bleed the system again, im using super blue fluid, like i always have..1st gear is fine but 2nd-4th slipps..idk why..as soon as step on it it immediatly redlines.

Thanks BOOSTED BABY. This might sound dumb but if the spec feels softer, would that mean the stock pressure plate would be stronger?? Could you use the stock pressure plate with the stage 3 6 puck clutch???
Shifted wrote:First gear should never slip, sounds like you need a new clutch, I'm willing to bet your slave is leaking fluid onto your clutch plate. Happened to me twice.
first gear dot slip..2-3 and some times 4th..slave cyl has been replaced twice..in the past 3 months..lol

when a slave fails, it would not want to disengage, not slip, unless the seal (both trans, and hydro) failed.
its spec, READ "JUNK".

Sounds like what mine did. Failed within 2 weeks.
The issue? RSM sold me an ecotec clutch for my LD9. Bolted right up. Boy was I pissed.
Sounds to me like a clutch issue.... I think you'll need to drop that trans and inspect it man. Sorry.
Never going spec again. Bully is my next clutch.

When you drop the tranny deffinatly inspect the slave cyclinder. I just replaced mine this morning, well the slave cyclinder and throwout bearing where both shot to sh@!. Or I just looked at the clutch dust hole at the bottom of the Getrag and noticed hydraulic fluid leaking out, It wasn't alot just a little fluid along the edges of the case. Might be an idea to check it out.
slave isnt leaking...you can be on the highway and 3/4 throttle it will hit redline and fuel cut..and then smell the clutch..lol
