New Wheels Fixable????
Thursday, February 10, 2005 6:12 AM
Hey guys i just bought some new wheels last night and alot of the clearcoat has been ate off due to the guy putting acid on the wheels and "forgeting" to rinse it off. Anysways will a good buffing and polishing bring out these blemishes. or would my best bet to be powdercoating them? any help is appreciated.

well if acid ate the clearcoat......buffing won't make it re-appear

best bet is to either get them refinished in the same way or to powdercoat.

And if you can find anyone in this area that can powdercoat a set of rims, LET ME KNOW! The clear coat on my polished lip on my Motegi's is coming off and I've been looking for a good place to powdercoat them that won't charge me out the wazoo (LOL).

Also, are you still interested in my hood? If so, how much would you be willing to give me for it (and we could meet somewhere in the middle so you won't have to worry about shipping). Let me know, OK?

Zach, I'm not really all that far. If it's a good deal, it would be worth the drive.

They charged me $75 a wheel for mine. I don't know if that sounds like a good deal or not.

Agreed with Graffix. Get wheels refinished, this is the best option.
