Got 18's but what to wrap them?
Tuesday, February 22, 2005 7:48 PM
i just got 18's. ( its a surprise ) but i have never had 18's so i dont know a perfect size for them , ive heard 225/40 and 215/345 - and i mean i am slammed with koni yellows and GC coilovers and all i want to do is not tuck but sit right above the tire ( fender ) -- So what size would be the best ?

---Oh, what is the best that i should buy ?
  1. Toyo Proxes
  2. Nitto Neo Gens
  3. Kumho Ecsta

Im so lost. Ive never heard 18's so i just need some help!

i heard good of all 3 tires. the tire size you want is 225/40/18. if you get 215/40, its going to through off your speedo a little which is going to give you worse gas milage and put more miles on your car

215/40 is actually fine as well. It's the 215/35's that people put on that really throw things out of whack and look like donut spares.

I definitely recommend 225/40 though.

thanks guys. Is $360 for 4 tires of Nitto Neo Gens 225/40/ZR 18 a good deal ?

That sounds pretty cheap. I paid over a $100 apiece for my 215/45/ZR17 Nitto NT 450's.

ok, so summary....225/40/18 will tuck fine with 1.5-2" drop?

dont want to jack the thread but i have a similar question...will i run into problems?

(i just put my 18s on today after my prokit and GR2s and i'm a little nervous about having less than a half inch clearance in some spots)

both pics taken with vehciel off the ground.
