Need lots of help
Sunday, March 13, 2005 3:47 PM
I have a set of 17" Enkie Rims, I have no idea what model number they are, I bought them used and cheap. The bolt pattern matches up but it seems as if my studs are not long enough. The rims require spline drive lugs but they are not catching the threads since the studs are too short. Is is something simple I am overlooking such as a hub ring or do I actually need longer studs???? Here's a pic of the rims, just in case any of you has ever seen or dealt with these before. Thanks!!!!!!

well im not an expert with rims, im sure ww can help you more but i'll try. if you dont have the hub centric rings, you need to get some. also the offset on the wheels could be a problem of why the studs are short. you can buy longer studs and use them. if it is the offset thats off, you may have other problems like the tire hitting the fender.

Is the center bore too small to fit over your hub?

The studs not being long enough sounds odd to me.

No definately not too small to fit over the hub, the diameter of the center bore is massive. I'm hoping that I just need a hub centric ring, maybe if the wheels sit centered then the lugs would actually fit!!! HOPEFULLY

This does sound strange. Can you find out what the offset is? I'm wondering if they're made for an entirely different type of car or something.

Are you sure they're flush with the mounting surface?

I could if I knew what kind they were, all I know is they are Enkie's. They have some numbers on the inside of the rim but I am not sure if that's a model number. Like I said they came off a Neon. They were definately sitting flush and it don't seem to me that the offset is too positive on this rims, I am hoping it was just the fact it wasn't centered and my lugs weren't catching the studs!
