ideal tire size

Ok to start out I know almost nothing about ideal tire and wheel sizes for racing. I have 16 inch rims wrapped with hankook tires. The tires they came with are 225s. Are these large tires robbing me of power? Again I know alot about nitrous and performance but sadly nothing of this type of subject. Any knowledge you may have of this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Factory size for a 16" wheels is a 205-55-16 the 225-50-16 is the same exact height as the 205 but a tad bit wider. I dont see it slowing you up that much. if you wanted see if you could find a lil shorter sidewall like say a 45 or something like that. but they should be great in the turns.

there is definately better handling but I just wanted to make sure they wouldnt slow me down in a straight line or anything.
