Falken tires: ST115 vs. ZE512's
Tuesday, June 07, 2005 9:25 PM
Here are the 512's:

Here are the st115's:
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?sw=false&cs=205&pc=28791&rd=16&ar=55

I know a bunch of people have the 512's including myself. But does anyone have any input on the st115's? They are similarly priced, and it looks like the st115's are "higher performance"

info appreciated.

The 512's are all season tires, the 115's are not. I think that's the big difference, other than the tread pattern, which is actually kinda simliar.

I just ordered a set of the st115's I'll let everyone know how they perform. Just a quick question on this subject. Are the st115's the same "falken Azenis" that everyone is pulling really good 60' times?

the 115's are pretty nice tires quiet and fairly good grip tread life isnt to bad about what any realitively sticky tire would be if you do lots of burn outs then your going to be in trouble in about 10000 miles and thats with the rotation

youre the first person ive seen badmouth the falkens. before i got my ze 512's i asked all over the place. several people on jbo recommended them, as well as people from my other board, racersden. people on racersden who replied have all sorts of cars from cavaliers to corvettes, so i was thrilled to hear that a wide variety of people/cars/drivers like these tires

I had the Falken ST-115's and they didn't seem to wear fast at all. I was really impressed with how quiet they are on the highway. I wouldn;t hesitate to recommend them.

Keep in mind discount tire has very good prices. Lots lower than a retail tire shop would charge you.

I just received some 225/45/17 Cooper Zeon ZPT's from www.tiresavings.com (very similar prices to discount tire), and I saved a TON.

My tires in town would have cost $165 each.
http://www.tiresavings.com got them to me for $80 each plus $74 shipped to my door. I still saved more than $200!

So no, you dont get what you pay for unless youre getting a tire for cheap at a retail store.

About the falkens burning up easily, both the ZE 512 ZIEX and Azenis have a treadwear rating of 360. Thats pretty damn good if you ask me.

I want something that will last a while. I've read that the st115's are a poor wearing tire (along with n.s.o.s.e.' comment). So i'm leaning torward the 512's. I can get falken tires at a decent price, so that's why i'm choosing falken.

I'm sorry I guess i'm just used to a good tire like BFG KDW's, Which I can promise is the best tire you can buy. 1. They last forever 2. grip amazing in the corners and off the line 3. They are the only tire on the planet that can handle over 1 G-forse in the corners. I tryed the falkens and They didn't grip for crap. But I'm on 12:1 compresion with a 200 shot of N2o. If u like them then all the power to yah.
