I have rims and tires (size 205/70 R15) off an old 91 Grand Prix. Any ideas about....
1.) will the tires fit my existing 98 cavalier stock rims (15 inchers)
2.) or, would i just be able to take the rims and tires off the pontiac and put them right on my cavalier
The lug pattern appears to be the same, but i figured I'd ask you guys... the experts. Just off hand, I would judge that I'll have a 3-4 mph difference on my speedometer but thats cool... i don't really care.
thanks
Dave
Those tires are way too tall, and will probably rub everything... they will fit on your stock wheels, but not on the car.
And Grand Prix bolt pattern is 5x115 -- so the wheels will not fit your car.
I think the tires on your rims would work, especially if you haven't dropped the car. The total height would be 26.3 inches, about 1.3 inches taller than stock 15s. That means the tire would only be up into the wheel well 0.65 inch over stock which is a lot less impact than lowering the car 1.5 inches. It would result in a 5% error in your speedo, about 3 mph at 60 mph (would read 57).
at 5% error, thats no longer in the cautionary zone, thats in the dangerous zone.
i wouldnt recomend it, but thats never stopped anyone before.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
