does anyone have this setup? if you do, i want to see pics. I know that alot of cavys have them

take a pic of the wheel and go to the image manipulation forum and have someone photoshop it on your car. we already know they fit our cars so if your just trying to see what they look like, that would be your best bet

I got 225/45/17 on mine and the speedo seems accurate

225/45/17 is the one size up tire you SHOULD run on a 17 it is almost dead on.

Correct but the question was whether 205/50 is close to stock or not. It's close, same as 215/45 or even 235/40 are within 1 and 2 mph, thus making them usable.

Would 225/45r17 rub on a sport line drop? Sorry for jack in the post.

The 205/50 is actually a very good choice on our car, because it's the same width as the Z tire, with the slightly lower aspect ratio, giving it almost the same overall height.

The funny thing is that I had this conversation years ago with a wheel/tire shop, and getting a price on a set of 17x7 rims and a set of 205/50 tires for them for my old Z. The guy told me that you could absolutely not use a 50 series tire on a 17" rim on our cars, that you had to go with a 45 series. His explanation was that a 50 series was too tall, and would rub. I looked at the guy and asked him if he had a clue how to do the math, because the overall height of the tire would almost be identical, but the size he wanted me to go with was wider, so if anything, that would give it more of a chance of rubbing. He just kept telling me that he knew a 50 series would rub, so I left, telling him he obviously didn't have a good grasp on tire sizing. Gotta love 'experts' that aren't experts.
