Help with abs code c1232?
Sunday, May 22, 2011 5:18 PM
A year ago when I bought the car (02 cavalier 2.2) the abs traction and service light were on, so when we got the car safetied he checked the code for us and said it was the left front wheel speed sensor.
So I had that replaced but could never clear the code til now cause I just got the computer thing for it.
I tried to erase all the codes which were C1221 LF Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal is 0
C1225 LF Excessive Wheel Speed Variation
C1232 LF Wheel Speed Circuit Open or Shorted
But the last one C1232 wouldn't clear so I'm assuming there's still something wrong with it.
Does anyone know what it could be?
Thanks

I had the same issue recently. I Replaced the front wheel speed sensor and the code seemed stuck. There is a less costly solution that I missed. The wiring harness that connects to the sensor is what went bad on mine. The only downside to this more conservative solution is the harness will need to be wired into the rest of the sensor system. The part is easy to find and about a third of the cost of the sensor. Good luck and let me know if it is a fix for you.
