Tire size question
Saturday, March 02, 2013 9:19 AM
Well, I'm back to 14 inch steelies due to living in a wonderful neibhorhood

Question is, stock size is 195/70r14
Those are all rotted.

I'm looking at 195/60r14 tires.

Other than my spedo being off, what's the difference, other than sidewall size?
Will the car go lower? Will I get an ugly fender gap?
Both?

Is this a terrible idea? I sold my kyb kit, so I'm back at stock height.
Anyone wanna shine some light on this? Will the aesthetics be worth it, or should I just stick with the stock size?

Thanks folks.

your car will be a bit lower but the wheel gap will increase and if you worried about looks with stock suspension i would run the 70 series. the price difference would be minimal.

In there lies my next issue.

I'm buying a pro kit sometime this spring, and plan on going back down two inches.

With that in mind, I'm willing to sacrifice a few weeks/ month of looking decent, if its going to look better in the long run.

The 70s are HUGE, and I'm afraid it will look terrible once I go back down, at least the 60s would fit better after the drop.

Has anyone seen photos of someone lowered on 70s?

Pro kit is 1.4"??? which struts are you planning on running? Also I would either upgrade to 15s or 16s or stick with the factory sized tires, 195 60 14s would still be "too small" with or without a drop.
