New carpet tips
Sunday, September 09, 2012 3:44 PM
I have some new carpet from stockinteriors.com on the way. I have removed the front seats before but not the rear. While I have everything out I plan to lay down some dynomat under the rear seat. Mostly to quite down the clunking from my Jeffie bushing.

So any tips or pitfalls to avoid while removing the seat?

Don't just rip up on the bottom pad... I broke my plastic tabs doing that.

It's REALLY easy to remove the rear seats. There are two tabs that you need to push or pull on (Cant remember) and the seat will come right up.
There's enough room to pull up on them to see what you have to do.

Make sure you let the carpet sit on the floor for a few days laid out, it will be much easier to form to the bottom of the floor pan

Cool thanks for the info. Part of the reason I am doing this is because there was a major spill in the back floor and now my car smells like a small animal died in it. I doubt I will be able to save much pad so I might go to a carpet store and grab some....
