I know it has a C clip holding it on, i dont have any stores around me that sell the tool, and i dont want to wait for shipping if i order just to take my door apart, any way i found kind of a tutorial for a different car, but it sounds like the same setup as j-bodies, is this accurate? http://autorepair.about.com/library/weekly/aa092504f.htm

the way i do it is to just take a string (shoelace) and slide it in between the handle and the door and but the shoelace over the opening of the c-clip and just pull down so it pops off....thats how i do it

Get 2 precision screw drivers and jsut puch both sides of the clip and it pops right out. Make sure u put a towel down so it doenst bounce somewhere in the garage. I have never had it snap off but some have.

Spend the money on the Tool it was 4.00 for me and it was the best money i spent ( as i had to take the door off today). It takes 10 seconds. Spend the money and make it easy
