Turning rear seat into a box

Now that I have a sub in my trunk I have no room at all in there for my spare tire and jack. I was thinking of pulling out the rear seat and closing off the hole into trunk.. then building like a box or chest of sorts to hold my spare tire and jack in there. I was wondering if anyone else has done this or if any one has some suggestions. I figured it would be best to ask on here rather than to get out there and start drilling and cutting on a whim. I know the gas tank is under the rear seat, any one know how far it comes up to the front of the car? I am hoping to not have to drop the tank, but if I have to then I have to. Was thinking of putting some screws right at the very front of the edge to hold the wood down.

I just really hate how it looks in my car with a spare tire and jack laying in the back seat lol

Ya there is some people out there that have done that. Some people also went and bought the box already pre made to take over the back seat. It holds 4 12"s and either 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" depending on what you want

or you could just build a box that doesnt take up your entire trunk space?
