Replacing turn signal lever how-to

Just to help anyone who searches for this...

I was stuck on this last week and figured that you would have to pull the steering wheel to get to the front screw.

I am happy to admit that I was wrong. There are the 3 screws at the bottom of the steering column that allow you to remove the trim piece in front of the wheel.

This will get you access to the top screw.

Then, I learned today, that the steering adjustment lever UNSCREWS to allow you to pull the bottom trim piece. Piece of cake after that.

I thought that I had tried to unscrew that damn thing and that it didnt budge. It will come off though.

Its always something stupid that you miss that ends up being the key, ain't it?

Total job took less that 40 minutes - my GM dealer had quoted me 179 bucks to do it. Why are there no laws to protect the consumer from these guys?

I know that I have bitched and bitched about this sort of thing lately, but I am taking a beating over warranty issues these last few weeks.
