you do realize that theres no real point to an automatic short shifter, right? its like having a fake BOV

the stock auto shift knob sticks up so far it's not even funny. cutting it down doesn't serve any performance function, but it makes it look better. it's not like having a fake bov, cause that's making it look like you have a turbo, a short auto shifter is just making the shift knob look like it's not a foot tall.

I'm going to look into a pushbutton replacement for mine (for the time being, till I get a tranny swap done).

Alrighty well here is what you do if you want to know...

- Take off the stock shift knob (There is a pin key in the front, looks like a huge staple.. pull that out then pull up on the knob)

-Decide about how much you want to cut off of the flagpole

-Cut the black pole part of to the amount you wanted, but make sure that you do not cut the yellow/orange stick in the middle.

-Once the pole is cut then line it up with the orange stick thing and mark it off, thats where you wanna cut it.

-Carefully cut the stick, try not to break it.

-Then simply slide your shift knob back on and reinsert the pin key.

Thats how i have heard to do it. Although you could always search

I have mine cut down as much as you can and so you can still shift into 1st. If you cut it to low. You will not be able to get the shifter past a lower gear.

It looks a hell of a lot better and I can shift from Park to Drive faster.

Could have gone lower, but Im getting an aftermarket shifter, so wanted to leave a little room. It can always be cut down later

Used a pipe cutter for mine too.
