1) will the 4 speed auto shift position thing (the part that has P R N D 3 2 1) from an 01 sunfire fit a 4 speed 01 cavy?

2) if it does fit, does anyone have the sunfire part number?

The reason I ask this is red is the main color I'm doing my interior and I would like the nubers to glow red

Why not just put a red bulb or led in there?

I put blue in mine.

and I haven't pulled apart the console yet, though it was the paint on the shift selector thing that made it red, not a bulb. What size bulb did you use?

I do not know about a Sunfire but on my Cavalier I could only use a 194, if you go bigger it melts the plastic. I have some blue 194 6 led bulbs ordered - I will see how those light it up.

works for me. I have an 01 cavy, i was just looking for a sunfire part... but if a light bulb does what I'm looking for, I'll take that route

yeah id just use a red bulb

The red bulbs look pinkish, my friend used them behind his dash. Use the red LED bulbs, they'll be a true red, last forever, and jsut be cooler

use leds, they burn cold, they last years and years and years, they are true to color and easy to wire up, check ebay for this place http://stores.ebay.com/LED-Store pretty good prices and good selections and its us based so shipping times are reasonable.

Well, i tried 2 different red bulbs. the both got me the color i wanted, just were to dark for my taist. I ended up dipping a white 194 bulb twice in red translucent paint, then stuck one of those light covers on it (it looks like a little condom, got it form autozone for 2 or 3 bucks) It's not pink, but is a tad dark.

None the less, thanks guys. I'm going to look into some LED bulbs, and see what that gets me
