I went to the junk yard and got 3 hvac knobs. When i started to peele off the rubber there was some clear residue around the edges. Is this the glue used to hold the rubber in place or did i mess up the knobs some how?

probably just residue, just wipe it of with some goo-gone or something of the like. i had the same prob. when i did mine

Yeah. It's just a bit of adhesive to ensure the rubber stays on.
..... does the way this question is worded sound a bit wrong to anyone else...
LOL peelin off the rubber from the knob...got some residue on the knob...have her lick it off
