OK, you all know that I have banned all non-blue lights from my car (except for a few that I cannot fix yet, like the odometer, but his time grows short as well)
So I decided to do a complete makeover of the silver tube controls that came with my Plasmaglow kit (proudly sold at A Plus Performance!)
I don't have any pics of the original but let's just say it was ugly, silver and featured red LEDs to show you what the tubers are up to - it had to go...
First thing I did was take the whole thing apart, painted it black (except for the 2 silver buttons) and added some black vinyl accents. Then I shipped the circuit board to Buzz122 in Florida and he expertly removed the red LEDs and replaced them with blue. He's had a few posts in here covering stuff that he does - he really knows his work and is an expert at soldering. In fact, he will be joining Blue Cav Customs in a more official capacity soon...
Here it is before I created a black aluminum "cowl" to cover the wiring in the back of it...
WIth cowl...
Lights on before I added a translucent blue window to cover the super-bright LEDS
Pic of the window unlit
Final Product w/ translucent blue window (lit)
This thing looks great at night and adds a great functional accent to my blue-lit interior. It's all wire-lumed and everything will be nicely tucked away this weekend! The back of my glovebox door looks like crud now, but I'm going to paint it and add chrome screws soon.
Thanks!
WOW, thank you............. and it looks really well where you have placed it !!
You did a great job on the box itself, and wish there was some pics of it what it looked like before......
Thank you again..........

Looks real good. Good job to you on the exterior work and good job to buzz122 on the LED work. Can't wait to see how the whole car turns out.

You never cease to amaze me Steve, I would kill to see what your ride looks like at night with all that sexy blue glow, tis tits I'm sure. But it's the little stuff like this that impresses me, excellent detail work.
I will be converting my HVAC to blue lights hopefully this summer, I cleared my knobs when I installed your CF HVAC piece, (which was georgous BTW) but now the light from the clear knobs bugs me, lol. Will be sweet when they are all blue.

must...find...that...stuff
thanks 03eco
Dude I got blue light spilling from every possible place, even the glove box latch has 3 under there...
I would give anything to have a decent camera that could get some decent night shots. Once I get the odometer and warning icons all blue, I'm going to hire a professional photographer to do that for me.
If it were indeed "tits" as you say, they would be 44DD for sure! (sorry ladies!)
I imagine the odometer light is no easy task, good luck, can't wait to see what you come up with. Did you use leds for the HVAC also?
Either way if I were local I'd def bring some cameras over, my gf and my mom both have crazy cameras. My little 4.1 megapixel does ok, but their cameras are insane.

nice work bro im liking it! i need to do my lights in my sunfire cluster but i cant figure out how to get the stupid gauge overlay off since it had red paint on the back to make the lights show up red/orange and i want to change it all to green grr but anyways when i come up with something it will be changed!
Who needs a sig?

i think someone may have done the green lights behind the orange, and it still lit up in green............ i'll have to double check on that.........
