Has anyone attempted to diamantle the switch? I want to get to the bulb inside t change it out, without breaking it.

Yup I have. You kinda gotta pry the switch levers off with a screw driver from the sides, and then push the tabs in on the plastic casing of the switches to get the inner assembly out. Then you have to use a soldering iron to remove the bulb and solder in a new one. Or you could use a nice bright led (don't forget resistor if its not a 12v ready led).
