New Seats! and question?
Sunday, April 23, 2006 5:20 PM
Went and picked up some Yonaka seats fom A Plus this Saturday morning and got them installed. I love these seats, they are sooo comfortable.
Building the brackets was not fun but it was worth the headache and the countless number of metal slivers.

Now if only my back seat wasn't so ugly.

I got a question for any one with racing seats, how do you get the drivers side seatbelt to work?? The click part is attatched to the stock seat frame, can it be taken off and attached to the new frame? what has everyone else done??

I made a right angle, 90 degree, piece with a hole in each leg. Mounted that over the mount for the right rear of the seat. I used 1/4" and braced the angle. If it lets go in an accident, it will end up doing some major damage to my lower organs.

I think I might wait for other options then.

They are synthetic leather. But look and feel like real leather.

Those look very nice for being a cheaper brand. How much did they cost ya? They look pretty comfortable too.

I drilled a hole in my brackets and put a nut on the back of the seatbelt bolt. I made different brackets than everyone else though.
___
__l l___ They look somethin like that if you follow, that is if you are lookin in from the side. So on the side it has another piece of steel wielded on that i drilled into.

Hi kids, do you like 5 inch exhaust tips?,
Wanna see me stick chrome fender flares over each one of my Konigs? Wanna
follow me and do exactly as I did? Try NAWS and get your motor F***** up
worse then my life is? My brain's dead weight, I'm trying to get my head
straight, but I an't figure out which sticker to put over my license plate.
And the mechanic says "Rice Burner you's a crack head "Nu-uh" "Then why's
your car dead man its wasted " Well since age 9 I've wanted an SI so I could
put chrome 18's on it and make it run 16.9's. Got pissed off and ripped all
my honda emblems off, And replaced them with "R" badges so people know Im
not soft. I smoke a big bowl of chron, and lay in my lawn, for longer then
it took me to put my altezzas on. "Come here bastard" "Dude , wait a minute
thats a Viper dawg!!" I don't give a F***, i'll just fly by and put my
hazards on!

I just meant that it would take so much force to get the seat belt loose, that it would do major damage to you. In other words, the seat belt won't give in an accident. Even a 300lb dude probably wouldn't have enough mass to exert that kind of force at speeds that a Cavalier are capable of. Definitely stronger than the stock stamped steel bracket.

Dang... you got those in quick Great to hear & see man!!! That was quite a long day for you I'm sure, as it was for me, lol.

Were the little plastic pieces hidden good by the console?

Anyone wanting these seats, contact me... They're made by Yonaka Motorosports. Scott picked his up here at the shop, and they had some minor, minor damage, so they were a bit less than usual. I can get anyone a good deal if they're interested.

Yes, but a cage to mount the harness to is expensive.

Yes I already looked in to the harness and it was a little more than I wanted to pay for everything so I am just gonna figure somethingout with the stock one.

Yes, jason that was maybe the longest day of my life! After I got home I worked on the brackets for a while and got the drivers side just about done, then finished up on sunday morning and got the passenger seat done. The brackets were kind of a pain in the a$$ to get straight but once I got the drivers side done the passenger side went very smooth.
