Well, I got a little bored here at the hacienda and decided to mess around and kill some time. I got into my cavy and took out the door panels along with a few pieces of trim I needed to get started on. Here's what I've done in the last couple of hours:
Very ghetto DIY sound dampener. Surpringingly, this helped cut down on a lot of noise from outside. Better than spending a lot on sound deadening kits, in my opinion. I used packing materials and faithful amounts of duct tape in this panel.
I used felt and quilt filler in this panel, to try and see which method worked better.
A few parts waiting to go on tomorrow:
Here is some trim I've started painting on. Please, dont bash the terrible look. These are the very first base coats just to get the colors going. I've got to sand them down and add the good coats tomorrow when I get more paint.
Once I get the majority of my interior work finished I'll get a lot of pictures up and so on.
Woooo bubbies.
wow..ghetto fab....looks....phil
Not everyone can afford hundreds of feet of dynamat.
personally i think its great that you you tried something new and it worked! congrats for not just plopping a chunk of change down.
HOMEMADE RULES ALL!
chuck norris outran a cavalier. he just stood still.
Yeah, bro, it's great that you can afford to spend that much on fatmat, dynamat, etc. However, I'm young and unemployed. I'm all about DIYing everything. So, let it go.
Woooo bubbies.

I'm so sick of seeing cheapskates invade the Tuner market....
Just my 2˘
Um, you realize that these cheapskates, were the same type of people who originally started the whole tuner thing. Its only recently, in the last 6 or so years became the money drivin market it is now.
I agree with both sides. Dynamat and such is expensive... so if you can do it cheaper and it works... great! May not be for everyone, but if it works for you good. The problem is when people attempt to DIY and the results looks cheap. Sound deadener is hidden away, so if it is done cheaply it doesn't make the car look cheap. I just have a problem when people try to cheap out on things that are visible, and it looks cheap.
