I agree. The '03+ dash basically looks the same as a Grand Am dash. It has round vents and all. I can't wait to find one at one of the junkyards around here so I can do the swap too.

Yes, that's true, but it's about as close to a Grand Am GT dash as you're going to find without a ridiculous amount of modification, so why not just save yourself the trouble and just install an '03+ Sunfire dash? Just my .02 though.

i'd been thinking about the grand am dash in a cav, but that 03 sunfire dash looks just as good to me. what would i have to do to put the 03 fire dash in a 96 cav?

Any Sunfire dash (similar generations) will fit any Cavalier wish a few involved modifications... Namely taking out your ENTIRE dash (metal support bars as well) and your door panels and swapping to a Sunfire version.

On the door panel you will need to take out the rivets that hold the metal tab to the door (near where the Cavalier door handle) and use the Sunfire tab.

Get a Chilton's or Haynes manual for the cars and be meticulous...its a relatively easy swap, just takes time and patience. Be sure to put it together thoroughly and tight so you don't get a new dash with tons of squeaking and creaking.
