Alright i got some free 9" neon tubes from a buddy of mine and i was planning to mount them under my dash today but i look on the driverside.. and i cant see one place to mount them.. looked on pass side and there is this plastic cover that looks to hide everything.. i planned to just mount it to that.. but on teh driverside i have no clue where to mount a neon tube.. here are pics of both driverside and pass side so if someone could show me a pic of theres mounted on teh driverside or just lemme know if im missing a plastic cover for the driverside id appreciate it.. kinda wish i had anotehr cavalier around here to check really quick..

Passenger side
after looking, there is 2 metal brackets for something.. one has the diagnosis plugin mounted to it but could i just mount it infront of it on those 2 brackets? i dont want the tubes to be easily visible so im kinda skeptical on mounting on them.. If someone can please show me pics on how they have theirs mounted on both sides id really appreciate it!
ill help you out here seeing as how you helpped me
I mounted my neons on the driver side was right behind the plastic piece. Its hard to describe but maybe the pictures will help.
Now for the passanger side i mounted them as far up as possible and right behind the glove box door. Its as close as you can get to the front plastic area that you acn see from were you it. you cant see them but still a nice shine ... picture time.
Passanger side pictures.
drivers side.
Sorry about the bad glare in the last drivers side picture.
I was afraid to use screws seing as how i didn't know were wires would be or were anything might be that i could damage so i just used some double sided 3m tape.
hope this helps you out!
ok i forgot to load the pictures of them like as to how easy they are to see them.
They CANT bee seen were i have then ... here are two pictures of both sides at the top of the bottom part of the seat (were a short persons knees would be)
thats about it unless you ask for more pictures or more of a discripsion
for the driver and pass side, zip ties are your friend. i had some under both, and zipped em in there, and couldnt see either of the tubes
RIP Saint ........ JBO
Like I told you earlier stephen...zip ties ftw!!
On the passenger side, its easy to rubber-cement velcro under the glove box and attach the tube there. As for the drivers side, there really isn't anywhere to glue to, so the zip tie theory works well. Just zip tie them to the metal brackets and you're set.
drivers side

the mount plate thing on the right side i bent it up a little to keep the cathode from showing
pass side

on this side i ziptied the cathode to the side/back of the glove box hinge, instead of it just hanging down.

exactly how mine are..
and yes zip ties are your friends
Thanks for the help guys.. i removed the plastic cover on the pass side and just drilled holes through the botom of the glove.. luckyily it doesnt go into my glove box.. it might have like a cubby under it.. the driverside one i mounted to the 2 metal brackets.. drilled a hole one one and screwed it in and then zip tied the other end since th eonly hole hung off the edge.. its a PITA to try to get inbetween teh seat and dash to get under the dash to see what im doing.. but here are some pics.. also if u notice the passenger side one is brighter.. this si because they are diff brands.. the driverside one is Redline.. the pass side is Optix.. so tomma ill go to Auto Zone and buy another 9" tube..

At night.. i love the optix one.. matches my HVAC and guage LEDs perfect..
looks great thats what i want to do. how did you get your hvac knobs that green?
Green LEDs from superbrightleds.com wrapped the clear plastic behind the hvac panel in aluminum foil to project more light towards the knobs.. search for HVAC Colors for a post by buzz and look on one of the last 2-3 pages and i posted pics of how i had it done..
mine is just zi tied to that huge wire loom on the drivers side
