I left my window down one night when it rained. Lousy sudden thunderstorm, lol. All I did was shampoo my carpets and my seats, and then used febreeze under the seats and on the carpet when it was dry. Hasn't come back. You can't wait too long to act on it though, cause eventually the water will settle under the foam padding under the carpet and start to mildew.

I use a 4-step process thats guaranteed to work.

1. Shampoo seat and carpet using a small steam cleaner like you would use for your carpets in the house. Allow to dry fully

2. Saturate carpet with carpet freshener powder and vacuum out (allow to sit overnight before vacuuming if possible) Avoid carpet powder with strong scents - they make some that don't have a scent.

3. Febreeze

4. Place laundry fabric softener sheets under both seats for a week or so. The ywill draw any remaining odor into themselves and destroy it.

Hope this helps

Yeah you should have immediately used baking soda. And a lot of it. Cheap and very very effective. Then Vacuum out.

You don't need to do that, but it might just solve all your problems ahead of time.

However you waited so I would definitely get everything shampooed. Sometimes this will work in it self and you wont have to bother with the smells.

Everything he said above just covers odor except for the Fabric Sheets. They work well.

There is a machine that they use in houses after a fire, hotel rooms and other things. It used to be expensive, but now so many people do it, including garages, that its much cheaper. It actually neutralizes the odor. And will get rid of it. Not cover it up
