i painted some of the interior plastic and it started bubbling up and peeling. i washed it with soap and water then let it dry, sprayed it with plastic primer and then vinyl/plastic paint. the primer stuck fine until i sprayed it with paint and sum of it bubbled while the other part stuck perfect. any suggestions?

First i would make sure that i sanded the part well ..no shine on the plastic and you washed it well Is the primer your using the same as the paint? what is it Dupli-color? make sure your read the directions If your priming and it bubbles up that means that there something reacting with the primer on the plastic I.E. oil, acid, or a super smooth surface ...3M has a product that washing any oils or acid out of plastics it comes in two spray bottles and is forty bucks!! or i could tell you whats in them bottle one in your basic vinegar and water the vinegar eats the oils and dirt. And bottle number 2 is baking soda and water the baking soda neutralizes the acid to a 0 count Even your fingers have body oils that will rub off on the part this might have been a problem or some areas were not sanded enough hope it helps

I agree with Jimmaaaay! Your pieces were not prepped correctly. Use a cleaning agent of sometype instead of soap and water. I had this happen to me when i started panting and I could tell i didnt prep the pieces right cause the bezel bubbled up and the door panels didnt and i knew for a fast i cleaned the door panels before sanding and painting and i didnt clean the bezel so there ya go.

while sanding, is smooth like fiber glass the goal? how long does it take and does it cause a relfection. i am takin a break from taking all the primer and paint off bc the fumes start to get to you.
