So what are the chances that I could install a KMH Speedo in my Z24 that is using MPH Speedo at the moment? If I can are there any Canadian brothers that have access to a junkyard that has one for the Auto Z24? Or has one laying around that they are willing to part with and send over the boarder?

what year is your car? I could take a look at a few wreckers around here when I have spare time in the next few weeks.
i was going to do this back in the day, but could never find a canuckian that had one for an auto z with analog odometer
personally i think its a sweet idea. good luck and post pics if you do it

Black Cat's 140 "Conversion" is actually the Canadian cluster. If you want a Canadian Cluster you can always go through Alex and have him leave the KHM tags on the cluster.
Oh yea and jsut so you know, I have one of his 140 clusters and it works no problem with my car. No need to mess with anything. Plug and play.
Yhea I know about them for a couple of years now and I know they normally do good work too, just still undecided on how I am going to do mines. lol
But ty for the feedback.

Goodwrench where did you get your KMH Cluster?

That would be great I sent you a PM about that. I'm willing to pay what ever you had to pay plus a bit more for the hassel and what ever s&h is to the US.

From a friend that at the time worked for GM directly.
But you can get one at the dealer for sure. I'd look for my part #, but the cluster would only work for the 2000-2005 Js and I am thinking the piece you're looking for would go in your 1997. Also, I believe those years (95-99) show up to 180KPH and the 00-05 shows up to 220KPH.
Canadians, correct me if I am wrong on the 95-99 years.

So through GM is it replacing the entier cluster? Or is it just a sticker layover like those reverse glow gauges on ebay?
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
Yes, the one from GM would be the entire cluster.
Black Cat Customs is where you would go if you just want the face changed.

dont the canadian clusters have mph on the inside like the US clusters have kph on the inside?
and what trouble did you have with the dealer? did they say something about the mileage being wrong? or saying it was canadian?

All I know is I will be doing the speedo swap as soon as I find one. I have plans on making a LHS TRD Cavalier, and I don't think it would be right without the KHM Speedo.

^^I see what you mean. Goodluck man.

And yes they do have the smaller MPH # in orange, but it is smaller, on the inside of the needle sweep, so you really don't know what exact MPH you're doing... but exact KPH, yes. All I can get is a approximate MPH.
Well, when I was under warranty, they put on their records the KM and not the mileage. If you know, KM will be higher then mileage. So it looked like my warranty was going to be up within a week. A-holes did not want to do the conversion since my car is not Canadian. I raised hell, called GM's regional dept and they wind up fixing the odometer # to the true mileage. They told me this was the last time they would change it for me.-- I was worried about future odometer fraud
So all in all, it looks great.... and people think the car will max out at 220MPH

(idiots-lol), but with the good comes the bad as well.

You always have that no matter what mod you do. Just would not be true Tunning if you did not have the little stuff go wrong or not planned as u would like. If everybody could slap A to B with no problems we would all have the best looking cars in the world pushing 1000whp. Ya know? That is what is fun for me, the guessing game in the whole process of modding cars. This is the true meaning of tuners, to do something with a car that nobody has either not done or would never think about doing. That is what makes us j-tuners stand out in the crowd. EVERYBODY has a b16 swapped 700whp Honda, or a 500hp KA swapped ricer. I like to think of our engines kind of the same as the Honda B series engines interchangable to a certain degree. Like the 2.3l parts that can swap over to the 2.4l and give us so much more power. Now I hear that Fontana is thinking about making one of his flanges that will bolt the HO manifold to the eco head! This is crazy but so awesome, that is what makes being a jbody owner so much fun. OH and can't forget the best part, when your at the track and you blow the doors off of that Camaro or Mustang and people look at you like, "WOW! That was a Cavalier?!?" It is great fun and I love it.
