Interest in a LoTek Passenger Side A-Pillar Tripple Gauge Pod?
Thursday, March 01, 2007 11:37 AM
I contacted LoTek today and they are interested in working with us to make a group purchase for a passenger side A-pillar triple gauge pod for our J's. Still quite a ways from a group purchase but they did express that in the past, regardless of make and model, passenger side moldings don't sell so there gonna be looking to cover costs on the first run and they'll have about $1500.00 initial cost to start production.

I'm not sure what pricing will be but at there average of about $50.00 I'd say we need to sell around 40 in the initial run if this is going to work........
We do have a large application year range which is definitely in our favor but they were still certain they weren't going to sell much if any beyond this GP so they want to cover cost and make a little on this first run.

If you could, drop your names in a list in here so that I can get them some numbers of an initial purchase volume.

Instead of a Passenger Side A-PIllar, I bet there would be a bigger demand for the cluster that covers up the vents in the bezel then the passanger Apiller. Like have them make a full replacement bezel.

A cover that would fit over the steering wheel, and have two-three pods would be great.

I personally like the AC and intend on keeping it so no covering the vents...also, trying to fit three 2-18" gauges above the steering wheel would be close to impossible....now the best way IMO would be in the dash mat above the vents but that would be very exspensive and/or time consuming.

Yeah, if you tell them that you can send in the part for a mold....they wont have any problem working something up. If you need, I can supply the part.

EDIT:
They will be calling me on monday....I'll swing the idea by them then and let you guys know.

You realize of course, thats just the small part that covers the face gauge. For our car, its the entire piece.. from face gauges to the radio. I would be surprised if Lotek would even do it, if they do, the price will be kinda way up there possibly. But I hope it works out though. it'd be a nice mod.

it might work better if they built a piece that would clip in behind that bezel. That way it'll eliminate having to fab such a big piece and keep costs down. I'd buy if they came out with something like that.

i would think they could do a pop in ring or something... hold it in with little clips all the way around the gauge face... mebbe im just dumb.

well actually it looks like the just put a full peice on the inside of the dash.....the could just make a guage holder that slides in and goes all the way around the gauges....

I am in the process of building the cluster and one for the steering wheel cover.
