Dyno queen? Are you retarded. You sir are a great example of why he doesnt list anything or care to. This will be his daily driver. He will be running two different stages of boost, and it was built for one of the main reasons being longivity. I am not saying anymore about his motor, but...the thing is a great deffinition of "built." No longer does built mean rods and pistons.....Congrats Chris, get the thing in and post your "edited dyno sheets." <-As I am sure your going to hear.

Then y won't he post what hes had someone do to the motor? If its that good, it only leads to better the jbody community in all. Hell.. i'm stil running stock engine with bolt ons. Willing to make it better in an engine built, but theres not concensus on how to make it better. So if you know...let us (me ) know. In all...if its that 'custom' of course nobody is going to spend 3 years(was it?) with no wheels, so y worry about it.

Nate

i also cannot understand why theres so much secret talk of what this motors built with, i mean id actually believe whats done to it but the numbers hes gonna be putting down is what everyone is going to question until they see some track videos or dyno charts.

Re: Sweetness: And so it Begins...

Hm... well now that it's Sunday and I have enough sense to make a full post...

First off - the secretiveness. I'll be honest in saying over the span of 6 years I've done a lot of things and spent a lot of money to be innovative, only to watch the copycats follow. The problem with the .org performance-wise is that it's a literal rat-race... so many with huge aspirations and few with the discipline to see it through.

Even if I gave you a full list of what's in this motor it would take a lot of time for you to figure out how to machine the custom parts that were made for it... I'd say about 55-60% of it is "off the shelf" and the rest... nope. So there is no benefit to you there...

To be honest, why do you care what's in it? It's a built engine... it has fancy parts. What matters is that it can do what it's intended to do - and yes I realize there will be non-believers and haters until it actually HITS that magical number... but that's the one thing this community has lacked the last few years: faith. Faith in eachother and our cars that we can do the things we aspire to do.... if somebody stands up the rest of the community finds a way to tear them down. It's terrible.

Last night we ran into a small problem, the tranny is pissing fluid. I blew an axle seal for sure with all my jigging of axles the last few months so I"ll replace that but we're afraid it was looking like it was coming from INSIDE the casing, the casing which I grinded 2 days ago for an isuzu TOB. I was very careful and inspected it fully at the time and it makes no sense as to why it would leak from where I took a grinder to it but I'm questioning myself now... all I can do is replace the seal and see if the leak stops. I pray it does I don't want to pull the tranny off.

The engine itself... is immaculate. Pictures are coming, give me a day or so but you'll see the final result of months of planning and polishing and masking and painting... we had to hold the idle at 2000 for 10 mins and then 2500 for 10 mins..... at 2500 we put a bottle on the battery with the car jacked up crooked and the bottle didn't move - the beer inside didn't even jiggle. That's what I call a balanced motor.

I am very pleased with the work that was done to the engine and the way it was built, and I'm proud to own it. I look forward with anticipation to living up to my claims and hopefully inspiring the community to realize that we aren't done improving the platform - the best is yet to come.

Thank you all for your kind words, and even your harsh ones. They drive me to work harder to prove that I am good for my word.

Good luck all,

-Chris-

Whats wrong with "copy cats". Imagine it won't happen with ur build if its got the much machining etc, but would be nice to know things like ur oiling upgrade.

Yeah chris I hate leaks... since my motor has been out I have lost all my clutch fluid, and when you press the pedal it shoots out of somewhere but we can find where.....

figure it out man!

John, yeah it's not pretty but it works and you don't see it with everything in.

Andy - Thanks. It's something people need to realize around here..

Jeremy - Trust me I looked up to your motor for a few years, I found ways to improve it and that's what I did.

Scott - yeah yeah I'll earn that "sticker" you prick. haha.

Phil - Um... check your throwout. You should NOT push the clutch pedal without an engine in there, you'll blow the seals on the TOB. Found out the hard way when a friend pushed mine 5 months ago.

It was great seeing and hearing your motor fire up. It was a fun 2 nights prepping and installing the motor. I'm thrilled it started on the first attempt. Also honored to be the first person to touch the gas pedal on this new beast! Damn that motor idles smooth guys, can't wait to see it running around the next few weeks! Told you all the hard work would pay off.

Good work and good luck!

Okay, but you're still just bragging and not backing it up with any info. I have nothing against you or your goals ( hope you meet them) but when i keep seeing post after post from you about how you're doing things that no one else has done and things that no one would even believe if you were to tell us its just funny to me. Why make countless posts to brag when you won't tell anyone what you're bragging about, other than 500+whp?

As for improving on my motor, cool... My motor is plenty for my needs, i have no desire what so ever take make 500+whp or even come close too it. My car is already near the point of being unstreetably fast, another 200+whp would be way too much for my needs.

in my years on the jbo ive realised that if you even listed out every single part and spec there would only be 1 or 2 people with the actual money, time and dedication to copy you. who cares who did what first or who copied who.

Jeremy, and that's cool. Like I said I looked up to your motor and saw what you did right and what I had to do better go go that extra mile.... first off I want higher revs than stock - means you need to deal with the entire oiling and chain system. All of it. Lots of little tidbits in there... the head was drastically improved, even my manifolds were taken care of... I had to look at all aspects and ask a lot of questions to see where people had problems. A lot of heat treating went into the motor too...

I'm not bragging so much as just saying, this is what I'm doing. I don't want somebody to follow my footsteps with a near-stock engine or with rods & pistons as an upgrade... they know there's more. I want people to tear down the engine and look at it and learn by trying, instead of spoon feeding them everything right down to my paint color, which people have PM'd me for (for the interior).

I just want people to learn instead of take info and run to a shop and say "build it"... I hope this car can inspire them to do that.

Hope that makes sense bud...

And no worries I'm not running that whp daily. Whatever 10 psi gets me on the street at my low boost setting will do fine.
