Man i've been following this thread from the start, and let me say, i'm really impressed with the possiblity of a 500whp J. I can't wait until you get that tranny back in with no problems (crosses fingers). Best of luck in reaching your goals man, screw what other people think.

you want to bump, then they will bump and hit real hard and a lot good.
LOL
OMFG, Chris man that sucks to hear that she's fixed but still not ready for the road. I say get that @!#$ together and hopefully I'll see you tomorrow night in Mississauga (either with a boosted fire or that Cobalt that Sandeep built).
Why would Chris go to a Mississauga meet? You're more likely to find ME at one of thsoe meets than him

that really sucks with the tranny, cant wait to see dyno numbers or 1/4 times.
Cliff - doubt the sunfire'll be there for tomorrow's meet. Hopin to make it to that Cobalt meet next week, with the sunfire and my project car

Bill, my new Mississauga meets are a regular tuesday night meet with the cobaltss.net members - at least they have respect for a boosted cavy and know what its all about - unlike some other people we have come across. You should come out to it. I know a few guys you could take.
Sandeep, I'd love to see that project cobalt you got going at the dealer there. Chris was telling me about it the other day.
dilemma dilemma, bring the cobalt, the cav or the bimmer.... hmmmm
I'll bring whatever can "remotely" keep up with Chris!

To think I was just talking with Chris about how it would be interesting to see if we could rent a runway at Pearson and get an F16 and see if sweetness could keep up to it at full throttle.
^^^^^ LMAO are u guys drunk?
Considering a Champcar can't beat an F16...with it's 1600lbs and 850HP...

Well the tranny is in, car is on the ground, took it around the block, 95% of things felt good and proper.... had one small issue that I'll have to fix today and other than that I think I'm good to drive it finally... I have to iron out a few kinks though in the suspension.
I have to say. It felt unreal that the car moved under its own power.

We will get that problem fixed tonight buddy and take it for a long drive this time
Anticipation is a bitch... isn't it?
after that all that's left is the tuning right ?

Well I might as well state what the problem is. The coolant neck that goes into the head somehow broke on the lip around the 0-ring, and it spewed coolant forth something fierce. A new neck will be put in tonight with a new o-ring and I do hope this is the last of my problems that are keeping me from driving it.
The kinks that need to be worked out is a reverse switch that isn't turning on my reverse lights for some reason and the steering "clunks" when I turn the wheel, we took a look under the car and it appears that the rack is moving a tidge so we need to address that.
Then after this, I have a 300 km break-in on stock injectors/PCM. No boost.
Then I have 2000-2500 km break in on brown tops, mild HPtuning and about 5-6 psi.
Then after that I'm free to put in the 1000cc monsters and start to up the boost. My gate is currently set for 10-11 psi so I'll have to regulate boost with my foot for a few weeks...... as I tune it I'll bring the rpm's up past stock.
I'll be in WI the weekend of Sept 15-18... I will be passing through Michigan and hopefully coming back thru NY state... we'll see.

it'll probably take monk-like patience not to mash on the gas once you're actually driving it on the streets...

i know this hasn't been mentioned in a while, but i don't know why anyone dogged on chris for not sharing info on his car, he really has shared. he refuses to do an entire part list for you, but if you have a question on how he got something to work he'll have an answer for you. every time i've had a question about something on his car he's always given me an answer and helped me out, and that goes for anything else.
on another note, chris its a beauty, and i hope everything fixes up well and runs perfect for you. when you stroll through MI make sure you stop by and let me adore the greatness.
Goal is to make my '00 auto 2.4 run a 14.6 with no internals (cams will go in), and no F/I.
