Hey, I finally got my boot and cut down the shifter. Im getting a GT leather wrapped knob, but Stock for the time being.
what do you think?
PS excuse the car, im detailiing it tommorow
wow, that looks really good.
I love that, I keep telling myself to do that to my Cavalier. Nice job.
Looks good I would keep the stock knob personally it flows very well.
Wicked1 -- I'd recommend it to anyone with an auto, it looks sleeker, and its a heck of a lot more comfortable to rest your hand on.
Juice Pushrods -- I see what yu mean about it flowing well... but lol I already ordered the knob, so its going on for sake of I already spent the money... do you think it would help if I got a leather wrapped e-brake handle? beacuse I would like to get one of those as well
what boot is that? im trying to make mine cuz i cant find a good enough boot to fit..
I like it, how'd you go about doing that? I wouldn't mind doing that to my shifter and yea where'd you get your boot from?
Yea deff like that. glad that I did that to my car. looks like the stock cavalier 5spd boot.

2009 Ford Mustang V6
looks good. i did that to my sunfire a couple years ago and really like the results.
Do you have any pictures with the knob off? I just want to see the final product

Maybe I'll make this my winter project.
I can take some pictures with the knob off, but its kinda brutal looking, i only had a hacksaw to use to cut the shaft. but i can take the boot off and take soem pics of it...
and yea, its the 2000+ 5 speed boot, i dont have the part number, but i bought if off here.

All i did was, took a screwdriver to the ring that surrounds the base of the assembly (sorta, where the prnd321 is, theres a ring that goes around the edge, all i did was pop that ring out (its sorta like a grommet) i popped it off, and broke off the FRONT clip of the shift boot, and it just popped right into place., as far as cutting the shaft, i just took a hacksaw (all i had) and cut the metal around the yellow rod in the inside ( i cut off about 1 3/4") and cut the yellow shaft the same length... MAKE SURE THE YELLOW STILL STICKS UP THE SAME AMOUNT! , i dont have stock pics, but i can take pics of the final product... tho im not too proud of the cut job, im going to clean it up with a dremmel eventually.
Sorry for the double post but

Definitely get the leather wrapped e-brake handle, otherwise it will look weird. Hell, you might as well get the leather wrapped steering wheel too . Oh hell, just do a full GT conversion, I mean you already have the Monsoon headunit .
Id like to bolt an eco under the hood, but for some reason i want to be the proud owner of an LNTURBO haha.
and yes, we should meet up again, i get off at 8 fri and saturday, and i dont work monday or tuesday, i work in oswego now (CPA on orchard), so something soon for sure!

Orchard and Mill, north of 34 about a mile
when you cut it, did you leave it in the car and just take the console out, or did you take the whole assy. out?
looks great man, im also doing this to my 2000 gt, i already have the shift boot and all. odd question but doesnt all autos have a button to push to put it in gear? unless theres a button there and i dont see it. my 2000 sunfire has a top button to push.

I was lazy and left it in there, but it was a pain to clean the metal shavings out of the car afterwards... I recommend taking the console out for that reason.

Yes there is a button there, its on the front, the closest word to describe it that I can think of would be its like, a trigger of sorts, but its there.
