Didn't clearance one of the pockets enough so I had to pull 5 valves back out and cut the valve seals as ussual in the process, in order to grind and re-wash the head.
Oh well, got the head assembled minus 5 valves and 5 new valve seals will be in tomorrow, should be putting the head on the block this weekend.
One tid-bit I would like to share....I am nearly 100% positive that the Supertech valve springs DO NOT clear the head casting in a L61 head on the exhaust side.
I have wear marks on my L61 head in the same spot I was having clearance issues with the springs in my LSJ head on nearly all the exhaust valve spring pockets.
I think this explains why my rockers where contacting my retainers last year, as the spring was catching on the head causing the back of the retainer to lift up and rub on the rocker arm.
huh.... i may check that when i change my valve cover lol!
13.22 @ 105.2
More progress:
Cylinder head FINALLY assembled
Made my block off plate for where the CPS sensor would normally go
Addition to my valve cover
Mock up to see the finished product

that'd be awesome!
i actually like the valve cover, man. even the writing is neat. good job!
If it runs and doesn't blow up I'll be happy...
If it makes over 200whp I'll be really happy...
If it makes 215-220whp like it SHOULD make I'll be estatic....
But ya, 200-210whp is my guess, my luck it will make 199whp just to piss me off....haha
Also, the writing is my little homage to the GM Ecotec Drag cars, plus it found it looked really plain without anything.
People seem to be hit or miss on the writing, but I think its pretty cool, so I'm glad some others to as well..lol

If that happened to me i'd be grabbing a nitrous bottle and make the engine regret the decision to make 199whp.....
its an old concept. time for something new to take the reigns. - Z yaaaa

Its almost a shame to put that awesome ECO hybrid under a hood.
But it'd be a bigger shame to not go ripping around with it under your hood, toss up, IMO.
Any updates newt? Ryan and I are like frothing at the mouths to hear/see this beast run... We were discussing the build over the weekend while he was visiting.

Motor is together, and assembled with trans....putting it back in the car this week...hopefully fire it up next weekend.
My solution to the oil cooler, tapped and plugged the big hole with a #10 BSP and a bonded seal and tapped the small hole 1/4 NPT to #4 JIC for my oil pressure.
That is gorgeous man... I am real excited for you. When it comes time to do the trigger wheel, get a hold of me or ryan... Maybe between us 3 we can come up with a better mounting solution that gets us close to zero...

Ryan sent me that picture on how to set up the trigger wheel, to be honest tho I don't fully understand whats going on in the picture, I'll have to call him once I get to the garage so I can see it in person again.
Hopefully I can give him a ring tonight, Ryan check your PM's.
