More Progress:
Motor is out.
Block and pistons are cleaned up.
Valve Seals should be here by Friday.
Still need some various parts at the dealer but I'll grab those next week.
All goes well I'm hoping to have the motor together by next weekend.

Big Hole
Motor is out
My ever growing parts pile :S
Clean
ecos look so easy to remove compared to 2.2/2200's and even LD9s
Haha yup, took the motor out the bottom actually, between the passenger side control arm and the bumper, you can see the hole in the pic, just dropped it down and slid it out.
Also, anyone else have a really @!#$ty deck job from the factory on their LE5? Ryan?
You can see in that pic the groove swirl marks from when they milled the deck, they are considerable grooves, im worried about my cometic head gasket sealing to this.
Hmmm i don't recall having any serious grooves. After using a plastic putty knife to clear off the old seal, i carefully went around with 2000 grit sandpaper. Put it this way, i installed and removed the head three times (yes THREE head gaskets), and never had a leaking gasket lol. One was cometic, the other two were OEM LE5.
I'm by no means an expert, but our MLS style gaskets seem to be more forgiving. IDK, man, use your best judgement or as a last resort have a qualified machinist look at it.
looking good man.....in for more pics
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...

Hey you leave my sleeping hours alone!
Limited progress Saturday night (to much rye drinking, not enough working):
Finished up my intake manifold
Ecotecs everywhere
Ran into a few other small issues, nothing that I can sort out tho...but regardless still issues. Back in the shop tonight to hammer a few of them out.
Its getting there...slowly...lol
nothing I can't sort out*****
i need to go premium
ok on the updates but there are quite a few solo cups out there lol
RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
You should of seen the work bench! haha
Like I said, to much rye drinking hurts productivity...haha
I think its time you start paying to use this place, you been trolling around here forever LOL
Pretty sure one of my injectors is @!#$.
Any recommendations for 36-42lb/hr injectors that are plug and play???
Nice job on the intake man. If you have a 02 fuel rail the saab green top 36# injectors are plug and play.
I do have the 02' fuel rail currently, running stock LSJ injectors....I would like to purchase some that are new tho, flow matched and good to go.
I noticed when I pulled my intake manifold off my motor #2 cylinder had a weird spray pattern inside the port, pulled the spark plugs last night and sure enough #2 spark plug was chaulk white...so it was running lean.
Idealy I'd like to pick up some 40lb/hr injectors.
Hmm see those are Minitimer connectors and not USCar like I thought we had
Anyone know if we have Minitimer or USCar connectors? I guess I could allways just look at them tonight and check.
Nvm, it appears we have the delphi/multec connector style.
I have my 2.4 Ecotec harnass at home, I'll check to see if its EV6 USCar and just use those pig tails, from my readings it should.
