Well today was very eventful day. Pulled the busted motor, drilled the griddle, installed the turbo, and got the motor installed. Gonna finish it up hopefully tomorrow. thanks to my friends Curtis and Bill today for the help.
Here is with the oil pan off. I needs some mobile one love
And here's when we started
Turbo mounted
Oil feed was kinda confusing but we got it.
Precision 550cc injectors
Here's when I stopped about 9 hours later
More to come.
Looking good dude.
Where does that charge pipe run that doesnt fit? If its under the oil pan, you might need to notch the pan so you can raise it up a bit.
That's a good idea. I may try that worst case. And yes it's under the oil pan
looking good my man.
see,everything worked out.

Another thing to consider, maybe the intercooler needs to move back a bit, that will help with getting the pipe closer. But definitely notch out the oil pan. I know I did when I did a turbo eco, so did most people running the pipes under the car.
I'd look into a RK Upper Mount or something more sturdy. Don't need the Downpipe smacking around on the subframe or tearing off the turbo
Good progress Tony!
You could always cut that pipe and extend it.

I think I found a solution. The pipe from the turbo has a small 90 on the end. gonna cut that 90 off and I bought a silicone coupler that's 8"x8" and 2" diameter I'm going to try.
Looking good so far Tony

Nice, gonna cut it down to a proper length I assume? That much silicone pipe on a curve may bulge with pressure. Only a maybe though, never heard of Venair, could be stout stuff.

i doubt he will have any problems considering that he is using the saab intake hose. also the saab turbo is kinda small. but i could be wrong.
Yeah I plan on cutting it. But it is very stout stuff. 4 layer reinforced.
right on, for a moment I forgot you were using the saab setup, I'm way too used to seeing people using huge turbos and then scrimping on piping connections *shudders
carry on good sir!
Shouldnt be any need to notch the pan on the eco ever...... almost everything can be done without notching....
As for that coupler, I used a vibrant brand one that size and used the full length of it and it worked fine.
Got my charge pipes done and finally got the car started woot! Now to get all the guages installed and then work on a tune.
Had to notch the subframe for the downpipe.

Thx.... Now for the hard part... The tuning
it lives and good luck with the hard part. lol. Nice progress btw.
Now I gotta get it to idle better. I think,it has bad gas due to it bring a year old. I read online that bad or old gas can cause it to be lean. I hope so. What's the chance it being that lean due to the wideband being 5" from the end of the downpipe.
are you trying to tune on a open downpipe? glad to see it is running.
