Hooking up three gauges
Tuesday, March 07, 2006 4:56 PM
Hey I'm hooking up three gauges and need to know what wires to hook each one up to . . . . What wire for the air/fuel gauge and where is it. . . . Same for a vacuum gauge. . . . .and same for oil pressure. Thanks

No instructions?

For the oil pressure, your either gonna need a T adapter or find another hole in the block for the oil sender.

The A/F guage, do a search its discussed every day.

Vacuum gauge, just tie it into a vacuum line (t-fitting) and you're all set.

A/F is the purple wire running from the O2 sensor connection. Make sure you splice into it after the O2 connection, so you can change it later.

Are your oil pressure and vacuum gauges electric or mechanical?

and.....what are the gauges? Air fuel I'm guessing, and if you only got three wires, none of which are purple, then your looking in the wrong spot.

i thought for the air fuel ratio gauge its located near the exhaust manifold where the o2 sensor is..there are three wires, going into it. going to be working on my car tomorow anywho so ill take a closer look, if theres a purple wire that is all i have to splice into thats good. thanks for your help

Yes the O2 sensor is screwed into the manifold. Then there is a connection at the end of it, with 3 or 4 coming out from there. Then it is the purple one.Make sure and wrap it up good with electrical tape when done. To prevent corrosion
