Trans & clutch replacement 02 eco
Saturday, October 04, 2014 10:45 AM
So a while ago the synchro in 3rd and 4th on my trans went out, and I've just been driving around with 1st 2nd and 5th for a few months, which was fine. I didn't have the money to replace the trans at the time, and then when I did I got too focused on beer (oops...).

Now it's time to replace the trans, because 3 days ago the pressure plate on my clutch decided to crack, so might as well replace both, right? Well I found a used (my father works at a dealership and gets a great deal on the working junkyard parts around here, since that's where his dealership buys parts) working trans and it's time to do a swap. Unfortunately we will not be able to use a lift and I REALLY do not want to pull the engine, that's just too complicated. We're not using a lift simply because we are impatient, no point in pulling the engine instead of just waiting.

My only question here is honest..
How high do I need to jack the car? I'm assuming somewhere around 2-3 feet, but I want to be sure, if any of you know that is.
