well if you think about it logically...
street tires are a fairly hard compound. when they grip you definately feel it. when you lose traction they spin. when they grab traction quickly and lose it quickly they hop. thats just how the hard rubber compound works.
now drag radials on the other hand are a very soft compound. they are designed to wrinkle and flex in order to grab onto the ground. this is why they dont hop. except in extreme cases. more often then not you will spin the piss out of them....or shake them enough to lose traction.
