im looking into selling my 1990 z24 cavalier and getting a 1995 chevy cavalier with a 2.2 DOHC engine and i was wondering wat a stock one runs in a 1/4 mile 5 spd, the only reason i want one is cuz there is alot of aftermarket parts available for it and not for my z24, thanx for the help.

There was no 2.2L DOHC motor in 95. The only OHC motor then was the 2.4L. THe 2.2L then was a OHV motor.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

It was a 2.3 DOHC in 95.

The 2.3L QUAD doesn't have that strong of an aftermarket really (not reliably at least).
You're looking at mid-high 15s if you're a decent driver. Your 1990 is probably lighter, and a 3800 swap is a 'walk in the park'. Turbo V6 motors are fun too I'd keep what you have personally.

95 2.3 manual are the best for an engine swap. You can drop in an Ho or W41 no problem and run high 14's N/A.
