1/8 ... 9.7311
MPH ... 73.86

1/4 ... 14.9879
MPH ... 91.67

I guess the fact that my car 'was' a "show" car prior (plenty of fiberglass in the trunk and heavy MDF wood), and possibly because it was my first time ever at a track and racing. My 60''s and 1/8th seem to be really slow, I had racing slicks on (not drag radials, I was dumb and bought the wrong tires, either way slicks are better than stock tires). I also ran a 15.33 with my 19s on and in full street trim.

If I need to post up a video I guess I will. I seem to run through 1st in 2 seconds and then bog out a little at the beginning of 2nd gear. I will have alky injection, secret cams, and HPtuners for next season, but I was really hoping for better.

The 14.98 came when I removed 2 subs and one of my sparco seats.

I think for what you have that time is respectable, obviously weight is an issue. Was the time with the 2.7 pulley? And how much boost are you seeing?I am also sure with dr's your time would have been faster.I'm sure once you get the hpt things will be much better.

It was with the pulley, and according to the autometer gauge im seeing like 6 - 6.5 psi which might be off slightly.

I pulled a 2.1 60' on stock tires, I bet you could get a 14 sec. pass, you have a decent mph on the second run.

Re: I'm Slow

his last run was a 14.9
the fact that its a show car dont help. adding a bodykit that is probaly heavier than the stock bumpers aint good. you want to take away weight. not add it.
the track itself will hae an effect. higher the elevation the slower cars are.
just keep practicing

Unintercooled M45. Enough said.

Alcohol injection will help quite a bit.

Yep, its already coming, looking at the coolingmist kit, any other recommendations or is this kit ok?. Im also doing the secret cams swap and a few other little mods here and there this winter, like engine mounts, etc.. The trunk setup demolition has begun too.. that should save me a bunch of weight too.

I ran the Coolingmist kit without an issue, nothing bad to say about it.

14.9 isnt bad...plus your car is hot, no need to go fast.

if you can get your 60 fts down you'll see better times. i could hit 2.1-2.2 60s on my stock LN2 all day (on all season tires as well)... i have yet to bring it to the track since it got "over-hauled"... but your launch makes the biggest difference down the track.

if you wanna pull a 14 even run in that car your gonna need a eco swap with about 10-12 psi or a full 2.4 build

i really hope your kidding...

If he did a "full 2.4 build" he'd be seeing alot better than a 14 flat..

Do you have the GM reflash? HPT would deffinatly make a difference as well so you can fine tune more specifically to your car.

I am more of a turbo/LN2 girl, i dont follow the 2.4 or S/C builds nearly as much... but from what ive been seeing, some head work, a lil more boost, and a good tune and i don't see how you wouldn't be able to hit a 14.

If you are maxing out your charger than that would be a feasible upgrade a well to give you more power.

I guess I will find out next June when I head back to the JCO bash, I should have some good power upgrades by then including HPT and secret cams to name a few. My trunk setup is almost completely gone and I probably saved a few hundred pounds right there. Maybe 14.00 is a tough goal, but if I was getting lower than 14.5 passes id still be happy.

I'm havin' trouble figuring out why slicks are slower than drag radials. Tell me why?

Thats a good question, I was simply told that myself after I bought the tires... I heard something about the sidewall being very hard as compared to drag radials, and something about my slicks beign better for auto-x than that drag racing. I dont have a difiinitive answer as I simply don't really know, and was just told it slicks arent as good as drag radials.

I would be interested in knowing what slicks you have. The ONLY time I run slower on slicks in when I use a taller tire. Taller tire=less gear.
Re: I'm Slow

The slicks that work the best (for me) are the 20" to22'' M/T slicks.
