Sounds like you'd be running in Street Mod or maybe Prepared. You'd have to check the rulebook carefully if you wanted to be in Prepared as some of your engine mods may be a little more than allowed. But Street Mod sounds more likely. In Street Mod you'd be running against any car that is not a 2 seat sportscar from the factory. In E Prepared you'd be up against neon's, civic's, rx7's, 4cyl non-turbo eclipse's, 4cyl mustangs, and most other small 4seaters.
The turbo puts him in SM. Everything else might have made him elligable for SP.
Sweet, thanks guys.

Guess I missed the turbo reading through the 1st time. Good luck in street mod, I mean it cuz you'll need it!!!
Seems the new Azenis are due to come in a 225.50.15.....and 225.45.17
The only 16" seems to be 205.40.16. More manufacturers are due to come out with a more competitive tire, like Hankook who is on line for lots of 16s" (215-45-16, 225-45-16, 245-45-16) in their new R-S2 Z212 which has generated lots of talk.
Just a heads up.

Now since you're running in STS you're limited to a tire with a minimun treadware of 140 and a maximum width of 225. A lot of you guys are liking the azenis probably due to their price right? Well I did some research on Max performance tires with tirerack and found that Pirelli has their P-Zero System Asimmetrico which has a treadware of 140(so think sticky) in 205/50R16 for $92 each retail +shipping and the 225/50R16 for $133 retail +shipping. You guys are probably paying a little less for the Azenis but don't you think the extra grip from the lower treadware rating is worth the money? I mean we all push our performance mods to the edge of the rules right? Why not run the stickiest tire you can? Thats why I run hoosiers in FSP. If for some reason I didn't have the money to get new tirs in time for an event I'd miss the event simply because the tires make that much of a differencr on a car with such inferior handling such as ours. And not to knock the Hanooks before they are out but I won't be jumping in line to spend money on tires from a manufacturer that has no motorsports background. Besides the Pirelli's Bridgestone also has their Potenza RE050 and S-02's which have a 140 treadware and a few 16" sizes. You might wanna check some others out especially if you're in the market for new tires anyways. Just some food for thought. Good thread though, I love talking autocross, you can only take so much dragracing talk...right?
I don't have experience with the P-zero's, but I really like the stiff sidewall on the azenis. They have excellent turn in and provide a good grip when they aren't over heated.
i wouldn't buy race tires more than 2 yrs old. After that they get hard.
Check out sccaforums.com See if you can find a used set of R's for around 200. 00 that's what I did
