Well, a few months ago I had a big eye opener. I hit a deer. Up until that point I had had no accidents and thought that my driving skills could get me out of almost anything...I was wrong. Coming home late one night, after dropping a friend off at his house, he asks me to open the car up as he wants to hear my exhaust. Well taking pride in my ride I agree to do so and I open the car up. after toping out in 3rd gear(this was a highway) a couple deer wonder onto the road...I didn't have much time to react but I managed to hit just one deer, killing it on impact. sucks...well here's a few pics my total insurance claim come to just over 6k in damage.
You can see how the hood curls back, it actually pushed the AC rad into the top of the main bending it back a little and puncturing the top half.
The passengers side air bag crack the windshield real good, there is a crack that goes up along the top of the window all the way to the drivers side.

Well, I finally got my car back and she is back to her old self
. I went and gave her a good wash and the guys that did the body work were nice enough to give it a full polish
Enjoy the pics....FYI a few are really blurry due to my new camera...I have to find a way to turn the shutter time down.
For those of you that don't know, this is the corner that took the brunt of the damage
Note the nice and new painted mirrors
That's all the good ones I have for now, next time the cav will be a few inchs lower and sporting a new turbo setup

I can't believe the Air Bags went off....the bumper looks like it wasnt even pushed in at all, maybe the sudden impact of the deer made them go off??
What do they do to re-set the bags??, and does the car still run/drive when they go off??, or is their a switch to kill the engine??, I'd like to know, Ive always assumed as soon as the bags go off, it's considered "TOTALED".
ya the impact of the deer set the bags off. To reset the bags they have to replace the sensors and the airbags, as well as the steering wheel and dash. The car still ran after, nothing happened, the engine didn't die or anything I just pulled over and reviewed the damage.
