K, so with this recent aquisition of my dad's 1989 Toyota Supra with larger than stock turbo and injectors, S-AFC etc, I've been playing with the Profec B as it is NOT working. This has happened on one other occassion...
I was driving and adjusting the setting on the Profec B..It was at 25%, I pushed it..the boost jumped up to 15..I let off, adjusted to 15%..couldn't push it as much and it only went to 7..so I bumbed it to 20% and it jumped to around 18. Well, I turned it down to 10% and it jumped up to 20 some psi before I could let off....no sound of detonation, the Profec B set off it's alarm, the check engine light was on for about 2 seconds, and that's it. The car idles fine, no oil leaks, what else can I look for?
Now, in those brief seconds that the car was up in that boost range could something have gone wrong? I'm buying the car from my old man no matter what, just wondering if I should start looking around for another engine
Any clues on what needs to be looked at to see what the hell is going on with the Profec?

Thanks a ton. I'll read through it. God I hated it. The manual doesn't tel you crap as far as I'm concerned..

Does boost really spike that much though? Even if I turned the % to 15% could it honestly spike to over 20 psi? I'll test it tomorrow, barring I didn't break anything tonight.
God I hate this...I can just see me going and trying to start it and no go..or -insert someting bad here-...can almost see myself saying to my wife..uh honey, can I order a new motor

Oh well, these things happen. Thanks for the info.
