Well my friend has a 2003 Neon SXT (he sucks at posting in his forum) and I have some questions in general for a turbo set up for the car.
He already has a nice T3 turbo, intercooler, etc. Everything really for the mechanical side, the problem is in tuning.
The neon's do not have a fuel return line, gasp. We will have his tank down for the fuel pump upgrade, but there are two ways of tuning that I see for him, but dunno which one he should really do.
He really likes my megasquirt and wants to get one to controll his fuel, I think this would be a great idea, but I have no idea how different it will be for an install on his car than a GM, I think they like GM sensor much better than dodge, but I honestly do not know if there is a big difference. I suggested that he use a FMU instead, since we will be installing a fuel return line, but I never used one of those either, my choice was the e-manage, and I have heard so many different things about the FMU's. The megasquirt may be nice too because it would allow him to use low impidence injectors.
Maybe off topic but just what would you guys do for a turbo set up for around 10psi, FMU or all out stand alone?
22 miles per gallon and dropping fast...
i'd call up Hahn and ask them... they are like, da @!#$, when it comes to turbo Neons
extra injector setup like portfueler would be the best all-around way to go so far as maintaining driveability and emissions legality.... also easy to convert back to stock if need be. I'm all about megasquirt but I'd only run it myself on an OBD1 or earlier car, i like not having to strip my car for inspection and put it back together afterwards.
Another option is that I do believe the the earlier neons in that body style had a fuel-return system... so if you could find one at a wrecker, steal the tank, lines, and rails... but after all that, extra injector setup of some kind would probably be easier.
