Also, I forgot to add .. Car and Driver had a yellow version of the 997 turbo, and they asked porsche some questions. The turbo s is suposed to get more than 500hp, didnt say about the torque. And the GT2 is going to be more "track related". The 997 is estimated by porsche to run 3.6 in the 0 - 60 in almost breaking into 11s in the 1/4 mile. This is an AWD car, and porsche designed it so that the torque is evenly streched out to all of the wheels, so no wheel is left out.

actually i work for the company that builds porsches racing heads and valve train set-ups. in europe the 911's are being tested with 8-cylinder motors. And they have plans to offer a V8 or box 8 (whatever it is) in future 911's
the same with BMW M3's they too are going to go to V8 very soon.

Porsche and Corvette are 2 very different worlds, but seriously, you could own a Corvette and have a down payment on a very nice house for the price of one of those things.
I like Porsche, Always have, and they're not cheap at all... but don't compare Corvette and Porsche... they're not even in the same league (or sport) in bang for the buck.

The new Z06 is faster, quicker and has better handeling.
Z06 runs 11's stock and Porsche doesn't. Plus that Porsche used Racing tires at Nurbergring and barely beat a Z06 on regular tires. There truely is no comprisson.
Z06 is ALL MOTER and Porsche is running 27psi and still can't keep up.
Best Time 15.917 at 86.86MPH
Porsche's never did it for me as far as their styling goes.

For the record, I am the biggest fan of the air-cooled 911... After that Porche is 2nd rate to a true high-dollar performance car namely Ferrari.

The body lines are just so nice, especially with the newer one. The front lip, the fog lamps parallel with the exhaust tips. Porsche is more of a status symbol, but on the other hand, you dont get teated like some used slut when you buy their cars. They make YOU happy, but as for GM, you make THEM happy. Ohh yeah, which automaker is proffitable and constantly sees their sales increase, definatly not ferrari
