General Motors has decided to keep its Saab premium car brand, citing Carl Forster, the president of GM's European division.
New GM board member Jerry York, an adviser to billionaire investor Kirk Kerkorian, who controls 9.9% of GM shares, recently suggested that Saab could be sold by GM to help shore up its finances.
At the Geneva Motor Show, Forster said he believes that York has been convinced that Saab is viable, and any questioning of the unit's future in the company was "now over," the story said.
Forster said Saab, which posted flat sales in 2005, would contribute strongly to profits at GM Europe in 2006.

i think selling saab would be a bad move, people who buy saabs usually stay w/ them.....pretty constant seller it seems to me
Why not toss Opel, Holden and Buick while they're at it?

Oldsmobile was known for their technolgy breakthrough on GM's commuter cars.
