1990 Toyota Camry LE V6 motor prob?

OK, so as you probably know, my car has no reverse, its pretty much stuck in gear (in park, it drives forward until it hits the parking pin, even uphill) but that's no biggy, it's got a killer neutral. Anyway...
4 days ago, during a delivery, the car got stuck in some ice and the car wouldnt move, and ended up digging myself a 6 inch rut for each drive wheel. well I had to rock the car to get it out, while in gear because it wont shift fast enough between neutral and drive, and finally we got it out after about an hour of rocking it. After we got out, I could hear a relatively quiet ticking in the motor or transmission. No biggie. the next day at work, at about 5:30pm I came to a stop, get out, and the ticking got louder... MUCH louder (loud enough that people on the phone can hear it while inside the car). I dont want to drive my car much more, because of this problem. A guy at work said it sounds like I fried a piston ring, a girl at work said that's what her serpentine belt sounded like before it snapped (she drives a GM car). Whatever it is, its causing the car to idle very badly, the motor dies while in park if the car isn't being revved even slightly (the RPM rises to ~600 and drops to ~450 several times/second) I'm wondering if its the transmission, which is very likely due to the fact that it was in gear while rolling backward, or the motor, because it sounds like its coming from one of the cylinders. thx for any help.

maybe you should put the poor thing out of its misery? we KNOW the trans is gone, or you'd still have reverse. based on what you've said you've got a mean knock now, as well. it's a ticking time bomb.

well... the thing is gone, its in the impound cuz the motor seized up. drivin down high street and for @!#$s and giggles, I hit the gas just to see how slowly the car sped up at WOT, and we heard a mid-loud pop and the motor stopped. We couldnt get the motor started again because the battery's positive wires arent connected properly (we tried tightening it but that wouldnt fix that problem), we got power back to the car, tried to start it again, and we could hear a single click from the starter trying to start. No attempt to turn over, nothing. We pulled out the oil dipstick and there was smoke coming from it... thats all she wrote. The oil looked fine, it was really high though. Now it's in the impound with my CRX... dead...

so what did you do to it to kill it?

honestly, they do take a lot of abuse - but if they're not maintained properly(or had a particularly abusive owner before you), they WILL die.
