Well, lately I've been thinking of trading in the ole Cavy for a new rig. I'm just getting tired of the constant noises coming from the dashboard, the rear-seat latch, the windshield, the door panels, and so on. Plus, my gas mileage is pretty crappy, and my car's an automatic on top of all that. SOOO, instead of going the more-popular route and buying a bigger and better car, I actually was looking at Aveos

No, seriously. I don't know what's wrong with my head, but I actually like them alot. I'm going to try and find one with 30K or so miles on it to test drive and see how they handle wear and tear. Then, if I like it, I can buy a brand new one for $6000 (I got mad connections, yo)
Give me opinions and whatnot.
My dad has one and I'm very impressed with it. I was able to drive it for a few days while my cavy was in the shop, and I kinda wish I had one now. It has quite a bit of get-up-and-go to it, the suspension handles really well, the brakes are really good, and its quieter than my cavy inside. It got really good gas mileage too. I'd say go for it.
i have one! i accutaly perfer it over my cav ... its roomier and just fun to drive . i have a 5door manual , the inside is so big like im 6'3'' and ive @!#$ in the backseat , something i could never do in the cav lol

...where it lacks in horse power i get in gas , it costs like 20 bucks to fill it up and last about a week . they are awesome!
I have seen them on ebay... lol but not in person. Kinda sounds wierd, i know, but im all the way in japan laughing at all the small dorky lookin cars
Giorgetto Giugiaro concept aveo was SEXY + pretty spiffy while putting out an extended 130 + hp.
My Cav
I give up...
i'm buying a VW those people love trees, so they should love eachother too... "Andy"
Anyone considered dropping a bigger 4-banger in it? If it's peppy at 100hp, what about 140/150?

I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.

You do know they are DEAWOO's right? You know DEAWOO the company noone wanted to touch with a 50' pole.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
My grandmother has one.. I'm not impressed with it. I'd wait till the Honda Fit comes to the US, if it's not here already.

i know a girl who had a cavalier, traded it in for one and said she liked it alot better
for me? id never drive one, but from point a-b it probably isnt bad for how cheap it is

Yeah, i'm very aware. But, in my own personal opinion, Daewoo (or pretty much any foreign company) > GM when it comes to small cars.
I dunno, I just really like the 5-doors. This picture makes them look really good (to me, at least):
And honestly, I'm only giving up 10 horsepower to gain a 5-speed, better suspension (well, at least better handling), lighter weight, better gas mileage, a more useful interior, more distinctive styling, more safety (like side air bags and 5-star frontal crash ratings), and a car that's 5 years newer. They're also rediculously easy to park
Me and my cousin raced one once. it was a 5 speed, really quick off the line but past 3rd gear or so they really lose power. Fun to drive though because they're so light, so the 95HP isn't so bad.
If you get one you gotta get the 5 speed, otherwise you're driving slug.
Funny that this $10K-$13K Aveo has better fit & finish (inside and out) with better quality plastics then the $16K-$24K Cobalt.
Even the 2007 Aveo with leather does not look (p)leather and the plastiwood comes close to looking like the real thing.

^ if they could sell those for $10K, i'd be all over it. Then again, I'm thinking of buying our current model, so my opinion doesn't mean much

Another chance to dog the cobalt..

I went rove one just for the hell of it when it came out... what I couldn't get over though is my CAVALIER was running a shot of nitrous equivalent to that entire engine from the aveo hahah
my parents own a silver 5 door. They're not bad cars at all, very cheap in price but the interior is better quality than our sunfire. It's pretty peppy, gets good gas mileage (31mpg highway is what their auto gets, so I'm guessing a 5 speed should get around 33mpg) Don't expect to be able to haul much around with you though other than people. The interior is very roomy but the trunk is pretty much non-existant.
Overall, for 6k you can't go wrong for a practically brand new car.
Jesus Christ No.
The thing is a total POS.
I know two ppl that own 2004/5 models... oh man... total junk boxes. They handle like crap... they accelerate like crap... they feel like crap on the inside.... they look like crap on the outside... just an overall @!#$ty car.
When most of the members on this site buy a new car... they upgrade... scions, F-Bodies, DSMs (if you can call that an upgrade... HAHAHAHAHAHHA... youre all slow), 350z's, etc... rarely if ever do you see someone DOWNGRADE to an even lower class of car.
Buy a Toyota Yaris.
LS1's never blow up;
Spray that puppy... 02 sensors are overrated.
you think your cav has alot of problems now give that aveo a few years.
you get what you pay for and your buying a cheaper car think about it.
