What do you think it would run in the quarter mile? Also, is the engine stock?
Rob

well with half the mods on it and 5cyl (one spark plug was blown in half some how) and semi bald tires on a track that doesnt spray VHT at all ... it ran 13.3 i think... also thats at a VERY high elevation... ahah just search calgary alberta ... in canada and you will see..

so now we are hopping for 11's this summer... might be to low but we will find out..

[quote=97cavie24ls(JDM&00s/c sedans™)]looks sweet as always
and them polished brakes are spendy , over the non-polished 1's
i still drool over the GNX's , and laugh everytime i think about the night 1 killed my 68 elco
lol

ahah you dont even want to know the price of that baer brake set up.. every thing you can get polished is polished ahah...
and yea no one thinks these cars are capable of the things they do...

and why is that? how else do you suggest getting 315/35/17 tires into a car with the wheel wells not tubed out and never will be....

It's simple. I would suggest that you get tires that actually fit under the car.

It does make the car look kinda goofy...On the other hand, that car would chew me up and spit me out so it can look however the hell it wants to and nobody will say sh*t.

ok so we get tires that fit under the car... so the stock rims can only hold up to 11" tires.... if we are ripping the @!#$ out of 13" tires do you think 11" ones would do any better? i dont think you understand what 500-600hp feels like with a car that makes way more Torque then hp.... and this car is driven all around and raced so yes we had to go wider...

You don't need to explain anything to me. I have an 81 'bu with a small block with n2o. The reason it's not hooking isn't because the tires aren't wide enough. It's because they're not designed for drag racing. If you want the car to hook you need to run at least a drag radial. It's easy to get G bodies to hook but when your making a lot of power, it takes more then wide tires.

and we have more then wide tires on it... but nothing is going get chopped up or hacked up to make more grip in a rare car such as this.... also being the gnx... it came with alot more suspension stuff for tracktion then a Grand National... but still has problems hooking up...

You wouldn't have a hard time launching that car with a set of 275-60-15 ET Radials or 28x11.5 Et Streets.

Well we took it out for a rip tonight... still got problems when under full load... its almost like the computer is turning the timing down.... so we got some stuff to figure out...

also tracktion wasnt all bad... i said it was bad earlier but then the days i was driving it was farily cold out... where as tonight it wasnt bad... plus after a slight brun out nothing big though but just enough it warmed up the tires and about 10sec later a hard launch they hooked up good.. so i guess i was wrong... just our 1/4 track is CRAP! no VHT is sprayed at all.. hasnt for the last 2 years... so just imagine how slipery it is... so we will see...

chrisIDV - hey man im not trying to say you dont know your stuff... all i was saying was what i encounterd with the car...

ahah well just to put them into perspective... the lip on the rear wheels is 6.5".... my summer rims are only 7"... so the lip alone is wider then the stock rim/tires on a Jbody ahahah

hehehee you have to take that to the e46fanatics.com forum I visit..
the guys are bragging about who has the fattest lip.. you can't let a
bmw owner with a 4.1" lip get all the glory rlmfao !!!!
