well hot damn i have ben looking for a project bike now for 6 months or so. followed up on some leads but the sellers were usually pretty flaky. i think this one is gunna go through however.
its a 1989 FZR600 with newer fzr750 front forks and rear end.
needs some major carb work and probably valves since fzrs tend to eat them.
i think i can work him down to like $600 for the bike.
this is what they look like stock.
and this is what it can look like with the r1 re-body kit which i will be doing immediately.
this is just with the r1/r6 tail. which i kinda liek cuz the old school circle lights i actually like.

Don't end up like that dude in AG. That guy is toast!

Nice bike though. I think it looks too old school for me, but can't go wrong for $600. Enjoy the ride.

GAWD yes. its insane. im in CA and right now its consistantly 95+
i have to drink a TON of water just to stay hydrated because of how much the gear makes me sweat. but my life is worth more to me than a little bit of heat and hassle
and the jacket i have is vented pretty nicely and i wear sunglasses inside my helmet so i can lift the visor to get some breeze in.

dude that is so bad ass. i have been wanting a bike hella bad for awhile. but i just cant see myself spending 9-11k on something like that. i just want it to pick up chicks lol.
if i could find one of them and make it look like an r6 that would be sweet and chicks dont know the difference lol
where would you buy a kit like that????
thanks
you can do it all custom yoruself if you know what your doing.
most ALL of the popular old sport bikes have premade re-body kits. older ninjas gixxers fzrs yzfs etc...

im in california. is he willing to ship?
Not sure if he is willing to ship, but he is asking $4k. He just put $1,500 into it in repairs. Tune up, fork seals, new compter, etc. I believe it is red white and blue.
Shipping would probably be a bit much but from what I hear there aren't very many of these around anymore.

looks like i just came across an even better deal. not in as good of shape as the other bike but is much easier on my pocket book.
$300 for the entire bike. not running but the frame is mostly straight except the swingarm with a dent.

nice bike once you're done with it. Does the r6 tail just bold up? If so I'd put the never one on, the new tails are sick!

no u have to cut up a bit of the rear and then rebolt
and i dont have the BIKE YET
hopefully tho, still working out details with the guy. if i dont get this one, i think im still going ot look for another fzr. i have doen alot of reading on them now and they seem to be excellent bikes that can be converted to lookpretty new for cheap and pretty easily.
i think i read the fzr is what tom cruise rode in top gun.
