1995 chrysler lhs,
does it or does it not have a hemi engine
no it does not, right???
this @!#$cing dumbass at work keeps telling me that his 3.5 liter v6 is a hemi
and i need more proof then i already have to shut this guy up thanks
Im not a starfish, It doesnt grow back
oh yeah im positive that a hemi is an 8 cylinder am i right
Im not a starfish, It doesnt grow back
It's possible that it has a hemispherical head
"HEMI's" can be any type of motor. It's all about the head. HEMI = hemispherical head which suck, IMO, because you can't ever put more than two valves per cylinder because you'd need some crazy valve angles.
its a 3.5 liter v6 that produces 215 hp and 230 lb
Im not a starfish, It doesnt grow back
no its not a "hemi" by the popular namesake, but like zeke said, it could technically be a hemi
ok i guess the question is
does this engine have a hemispherical head?
Im not a starfish, It doesnt grow back
is there supposed to be a picture there?
cuz i dont see one
No. They are not, do not, whatever not. In other words no.
And let him know hes a moron for thinking so. But thats just my opinion.

Maybe Im just pissed, pissed that my freinds are spineless, What else would you
call abandoment some night, when you're in a fight, and they could make things right?
Spineless. I miss some of my old friends, the ones who you could count on,
bet a huge amount on, the fact that they'd always have your back... Its like a kick in
the sack, just knowing, you've got nothing to fall back on. @!#$ this, Im done.
anyways i showed him the hemi.com and he didnt beleive me, i also showed him this site
clicky clicky
and he told me that it was made up site..
i said i need really fast responses cuz i was on lunch and i only had 30 mins
its no use the guys an idiot
but thanks for all the help,
i knew his engine wasnt a hemi but he told me to prove him wrong
Im not a starfish, It doesnt grow back

if the hemis suck so much why do the 8000 hp top fuelers use 468 BB with HEMI heads?

He's just one of "those guys". By wasting your time trying over and over again to prove him wrong, you then become "that guy". No one wants to be "that guy". Just let it rest. You can't logically talk to anyone that does not have the ability to use logic. I learned a few years ago...Just wash your hands with those kind of people. It does no good. I mean, you said it yourself.
Just trying to save you from increasing your headache.

i hate "that guy"

You're kidding right? The quickest cars in the world only have 2 valves per cylinder.
Actually, I think the motor in that car, BY DEFINITION ONLY, has a hemispherical head design. Basically all it mean is that the spark plug is in the middle of the combustion chamber... hell if that car has a hemi in it, I guess 2.4s and hondas have them too....lol
I plan on living forever... so far so good
i don't really know what the "official" definition of a hemispherical combustion chamber is, so if it has to be a perfect half-sphere, than no, the 3.5 does not have a hemispherical chamber. I worked for dodge as a tech for 3 years, i've seen many 3.5 heads after 30K oil change intervals, people running through floods, etc.. but it is a 4 valve per cylinder head which gives it a somewhate hemispherical shape. However, i believe that they typically refer to it as "pent-roof" and not "hemi".
In the end, its a battle of semantics, and most engines nowadays have what could easily be classified as a hemispherical chamber, even though it may not be a perfect hemisphere if you busted out the the vernier calipers, scale, etc, and measured it. Pointless argument, so don't bother getting worked up about it.

... do you realize how many engines producing big horsepower have "only" 2 valves/cylinder? the new LS7, w/ 505 horse, has 2 valves. the LS2 and LS1 both have two valves per cylinder. the ford 302 has 2 valves per cylinder. heck, my engine has 2 valves. you see a cool pushrod engine, it's gonna have 2 valves (maybe there are exceptions, but i cant think of any right now) what im gettin at, it's not how many valves you have, it's how ya use em. so dont bust on 2 valve hemi heads just because you need more valves to make power
Andy

it's not how fast you go, it's how you get there that counts.

i know your friend dosent have a N* but its the same theroy
i can see where your friend gets the idea that he has a "HEMI" cause of the shape.
oh and don't worry i have a friend just like that, he says his 03 4.7 Dakota has a hemi, it gets @!#$ nervs

actually you'd be surprised how closely related the 4.7 and 5.7 are...

How are the 4.7 and 5.7 Hemi similar? The 4.7 is a SOHC. Did they actually use the same block?
O noes!
